Welcome back to the weekly blog!
We hope to be able to share with you a small snippet of each session that has taken place in the week gone by.
Tuesday
In this Tuesday's Herbs and Nature session we talked about oregano (Origanum vulgare) and marjoram (Origanum majorana), culinary staples of the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisines, and traditional remedies for all sorts of ailments!
We sowed runner beans and pricked out feverfew, roman chamomile, spearmint, and jalapeño seedlings 🌶
We ventured out to Royal Victoria Park and talked about the fascinating world of oak trees, focusing on the English Oak (Quercus robur) and its rich cultural and ecological significance - from the works of William Shakespeare to the purple hairstreak butterfly! 🦋
Wednesday
This Wednesday our group headed out to give a host's garden a good tidy up!
They got stuck into weeding flower beds, clearing ivy off a wall, a late prune of a honeysuckle, and even managed to plant a rose!
The break had an Easter spin to it with tea, coffee, and hot cross buns!
After the break they pressed on tidying up another garden next door, reducing the hypericum, sticky weed, and brambles
A brilliant effort from all involved!

Thursday
This Thursday we planted our second early potatoes - "Bambino" for salads later in summer and "Sarpo Una", which should be blight resistant.
We also filled a bed with Andean salad leaves and some of the team of the team continued revamping a corner by our front wall adding blue flowering chicory to their patch of wheat grass and poppies.
A great way to finish off our sessions for the week before a well earned Easter break!
That brings us to the end of this week, check back next week to see what we've been up to!
