Learning & Growing

Updated: Apr 4, 2022

Our City & Guilds Horticulture course experienced some new plants and trees this week, with our perennial and tree identification modules.

We also helped with potting on annual Cosmos in our practical session. These small seedlings had already outgrown the module trays, and we gently nestled them into P9 pots, with fresh compost and more room for their roots.

Its surprising to think they will become dramatic large plants in the border by the summertime. The flowers attracting a variety of bees, butterflies and hoverflies, and also making a good cut flower.

Our smaller than usual group then went on another tree walk, becoming more familiar with those in the Parks, helped by some big labels…!
