Today was our Apply Day in the Orchard at Newton St Loe.
So grateful for such a great turnout from our new gardeners, supporters, trustees and staff. A special thank you to Phil Blacker for his craftsmanship in making our Apple Press and for Ted Litchfield in creating such a community approach to pressing apples in the orchard. Thanks also to those who baked cake for our visitors today. We are thankful to Duchy for allowing us to use the orchard as part of our lease on the Walled Garden, we love being tenants her in Newton St Loe.
Many of us got involved with picking, washing, mashing and starting the apples before finally pressing them in the wooden apples press. It was supper to be ablate take home some freshly pressed apple juice.
